In Favor of School Uniforms

• Elimination of style and fashion competition.
• Trendy and often expensive shoes, clothes and fashion accessories tend to cause resentment and acrimony among students and distractions in class.
• Uniforms help to create a feeling of school unity and pride.
• Dress code issues do not arise.

In Opposition to School Uniforms

• Students are denied a means of self-expression.
• Conformity in the form of indoctrination and propaganda in the classroom is only supported and enhanced by conformity in dress and appearance.
• Students could be given a choice to wear uniforms without making it mandatory.
